Happy 2019, Skin!

New year, new goals, new resolution! But how committed are we in following the plans we have for ourselves throughout the year? You can have as many as you want on the list. And one of the many on your list had better be an elaborated skin care resolution for 2019!

Quite often, many people aren’t inspired enough to draft up a resolution list. What is going to be mentioned below is very much for skin care resolution, and not others. We hope this article will make you feel more inspired with ideas to kick start your resolutions!

First up, remember to always wear sunscreen when you hit the outdoors in the day. Sunscreen should be worn throughout the year as there is still damaging ultraviolet radiation around. Your sunscreen should offer protection against UVA and UVB, and at least SPF 15. With the regular use of sunscreen, your skin is protected against the development of skin cancer and premature ageing.

Not sure if you’ve been cleaning your house and changing your bed sheets and towels regularly. And by regularly, I mean at least once or twice every two weeks. Your resolution should be to keep things clean. Your makeup should be cleaned at least on a monthly basis. Bacteria can build on the surface from constantly being in contact with our skin. Same goes for your bath towel, bed and pillow sheets as well.

Moving on, you should consider adding a face serum to your skincare routine if you haven’t already done so. Facial serums are concentrated, clear, gel-like solutions applied to the skin, which are made up of small molecules. This also means that they get absorbed very quickly and penetrates deep into the skin. Active ingredients such as anti-oxidants and vitamins can help to limit the damage caused by pollution and ultraviolet light.

Looking for a quick way to relax your mind and body, and at the same time to purify and nourish your skin? Make a point to put on a weekly face mask to enjoy the benefits. There are several types of masks to suit different skin conditions. For example, a clay-based mask is a great option for oily skin types that are prone to breakouts. Clay is an excellent ingredient that draws our impurities that can lead to spots. For dry skin, you want look for a mask containing hyaluronic acid. It is the ideal moisturiser that hydrates dry skin and plumps out the fine lines and wrinkles in ageing skin.

Last but also not the least, if you’re having troubled skin and acne scars, you should look up a doctor to seek help for the condition. With early and and proper treatment, you can prevent scarring or blemishes. Don’t wait but act now! Above all, do remember to stick to a proper skincare routine (cleanse, tone, moisturise).

All we want for you this year and forevermore, is to have skin you dare to bare
