As we celebrate the holidays and wind down (or rather, build up!) to the end of 2015, the team at Reinvention Journey would like to express our warmest thanks to our readers and contributors for making this community grow day by day. We also hope to continue providing you with useful and inspirational content in the coming year! For now, here are some interesting events you and your families can attend in December 2015:

  1. Carouselland (Dec 5 – 6)

With over 70 booths of vendors, you and your family can make a fun start to December at this annual fair. The event is not just about finding great steals and supporting local businesses, but there are also workshops to keep you and your young ones entertained. A sneak peak of our personal favourites: jewellery making, modern calligraphy, and crochet lessons! Find out more about the event on their Facebook page here.

  1. We can Arts Fest (Dec 6)

The Singapore Art Museum will be painted with splashes of creativity with the We Can! Arts Fest this year! Numerous workshops and panels by experts and activists will be held around the museum, all of which are free for admission! Find out more about this event here.

  1. Sonnets from the Singlish (Dec 11)

Has it been some time since you last attended a literary event, or does your group of friends prefer to listen to jokes over poetics? Well, this poetry reading could satisfy all audiences because of its accessible content! Enjoy a night of poetry with a Singlish and Singaporean twist at BooksActually. The lineup of poetry has been picked from over 100 pieces written in 2015, making it a must-visit year end event because of its unique and creative flair! Read more about it here.

  1. Migrant Worker Poetry Competition (Dec 13)

On the flipside, our interest was also piqued by this other poetry-related event that seems to stand in stark contrast with the previous event! Watch and enjoy the best pieces that migrant workers have written about their experience in Singapore at the National Library on the 13th of December. If you and your friends are interested in supporting this event, do act soon as you will need to book tickets to attend! You can do so from the event’s Facebook page here.

  1. In The Still of the Night (Dec 2015)

For photography aficionados, here is a public exhibition that will be open at the Esplanade all the way to the beginning of the new year (3rd Jan 2016 to be exact). The photographer, Darren Soh, has put together a beautiful complication of nocturnal landscapes of Singapore. Enjoy a quiet, thoughtful date or a pleasant family day at the Esplanade, which has a lot of other events going on in December! More details here.
